Take Care of Your Kisser: The skin on your lips has unique properties and it’s one of the most sensitive areas of skin. When it’s colder out, we have a tendency to lick our lips more, which dries them out. Drinking wine or coffee can also dehydrate them. Now, I’m not insinuating you stop drinking wine or coffee, who can do that?! To balance it out, be sure to drink plenty of water to counteract those effects. Also apply a moisturizing lip balm daily. I personally apply my lip balm throughout the day and definitely before I go to bed. I find that it helps with excessive dry lips, especially if you sleep with your mouth open. Protect You Mits: Your bare hands are exposed to the crisp weather more than any other part of your body. So treat them right with a product like SkinCeuticals Neck, Chest and Hand Repair because it’s formulated specifically for those areas, in addition to being beneficial all year round.
Your Scalp: I couldn’t think of anything witty to call it so just know that your scalp will be dry, itchy and flaky if you do not invest in a thick shampoo with moisturizer. One that I like is Caviar Anti-aging Replenishing Moisture Shampoo. It’s under $10 and works great!
And lastly and most importantly – DO NOT FORGET THE SPF! Sorry for all caps, I wasn’t screaming, just writing in a loud, aggressively important way ? Even during winter, the sun is lurking, so be proactive and protect your skin! Most foundations, tinted moisturizers, BB/CC creams, etc. come with a sunscreen already formulated in, but still go one step further and put another one on. I really like SkinCeuticals Fusion Defense UV Defense SPF 50. It’s weightless, paraben-free, non-comedogenic and comes in a sheer, universal tint adaptable to all skin tones – what more could you want from your sunscreen?
And of course, we have a number of skin care treatments to help make the next five months of your life tolerable.
Hope this helped!
